See ticketsBorussia Dortmund play at the Signal Iduna Park, long known as the Westfalenstadion, opened in 1974 for the World Cup. Expanded several times, it is now Germany's biggest stadium, with over 81,000 places for league games thanks to its standing terraces.
The stadium is a rectangle of four stands right next to the pitch. The Südtribüne, the famous "Yellow Wall", holds around 25,000 standing fans: the biggest terrace of its kind in Europe. The Westtribüne houses the boxes and VIP areas, the Osttribüne faces it, and the Nordtribüne has standing places and the away section.
BVB sell out almost every match, with one of the best attendances in the world. The Revierderby against Schalke and der Klassiker against Bayern are the most sought-after tickets.
Each stand offers a different experience. Here is what you need to know.
Südtribüne
The famous "Yellow Wall", Europe's biggest standing terrace with around 25,000 places. Songs, flags and giant tifos: a unique experience in world football.
Westtribüne
The main stand, with the dugouts, the boxes and the VIP areas. The central blocks (Category 1 Platinum) offer the best view in the stadium.
Osttribüne
The opposite side stand, over two tiers. An excellent overall view, with Category 1 seats at the top that are often a little cheaper.
Nordtribüne
Behind the other goal, in Category 3. It also has standing places and, in the corner, the away section.
U-Bahn U45, Stadion station, or S-Bahn S4, Signal Iduna Park station: a few minutes' walk from the stadium.
From the main station (Dortmund Hbf): about 10 minutes by U-Bahn, or around 35 minutes on foot.
On match days, the ticket often includes regional public transport: check the wording on your ticket.
The Revierderby against Schalke 04, the Ruhr neighbours, is the hottest game of the season. Der Klassiker against Bayern Munich, the great title rivals, is the other unmissable fixture. These are the most expensive and hardest tickets to find.
Dortmund have won eight German league titles, five German Cups, the 1997 Champions League and the Intercontinental Cup the same year. In 1966, the club became the first German side to win a European trophy, the Cup Winners' Cup. They play the Bundesliga every season (17 home games), the German Cup and often the Champions League.
Record appearance-maker Michael Zorc, 1996 Ballon d'Or winner Matthias Sammer, Karl-Heinz Riedle, Andreas Möller, Roman Weidenfeller, Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski left their mark on the club, as did coaches Ottmar Hitzfeld and Jürgen Klopp. On the French side, Ousmane Dembélé and Sébastien Haller also wore the black and yellow shirt.
Borussia Dortmund was founded on 19 December 1909 by young members of a local parish, who took its name from a local brewery. Deeply rooted in the Ruhr's working-class culture, the club won its first German title in 1956, then a second the following year.
In 1966, Dortmund became the first German club to win a European trophy. After harder years, Ottmar Hitzfeld took them back to the top: two titles in 1995 and 1996, then the 1997 Champions League against Juventus, in Munich.
On the brink of bankruptcy in 2005, the club recovered and enjoyed a new golden age under Jürgen Klopp: titles in 2011 and 2012, a league and cup double in 2012 and a Champions League final in 2013. Another final followed in 2024, and the Signal Iduna Park remains one of the most impressive stadiums in the world.
BVB's next match at the Signal Iduna Park is Borussia Dortmund - SV Elversberg on Saturday, 7 November 2026 at 15:30. Tickets start from €74 on our comparison.

The Revierderby against Schalke and der Klassiker against Bayern are by far the most expensive. Right now, tickets start from €57 on our site. Standing places and the Nordtribüne are the cheapest, the centre of the Westtribüne and Osttribüne the most expensive.
Yes, but the Südtribüne standing places are in very high demand and almost all go to season-ticket holders. When our partners offer them, they appear in the "Südtribüne" zone of the map. It is the most intense experience in the stadium.
Official ticketing is mostly reserved for season-ticket holders and members, and matches sell out. Without a membership, the resale sites we compare and VIP packages are the safest option: avoid sales on social media, where scams are common. Our partners are selected for their reliability and guarantee their tickets: if there's a problem, their customer service offers a refund or a solution.
Take the U-Bahn U45 to Stadion station or the S-Bahn S4 to Signal Iduna Park station, a few minutes' walk away. From the main station, allow about 10 minutes by U-Bahn or around 35 minutes on foot.
BVB tickets are usually electronic or mobile and sent a few days before the match. The exact delivery method is shown on each offer.
