See ticketsAnfield is one of the most legendary stadiums in world football. Opened in 1884, it first hosted Everton before becoming Liverpool's home when the club was founded in 1892. It stands in the Anfield district, north of the city centre, a few minutes from Goodison Park, Everton's former ground.
The stadium has been extensively modernised: the Main Stand was rebuilt in 2016, then the Anfield Road Stand was expanded in 2024, taking capacity to over 61,000. It has four stands: the Kop behind one goal, the Anfield Road Stand behind the other, and the Main Stand and Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand along the sides.
What makes Anfield unique is its atmosphere: "You'll Never Walk Alone" sung by the whole ground before kick-off, the "This Is Anfield" sign the players touch on their way out, and the Kop, one of the most famous stands in the world. Tickets here are among the most sought-after in Europe.
Each stand offers a different experience. Here is what you need to know.
The Kop
The most famous stand in England, behind the goal. It is home to the most passionate fans: the best choice to feel the Anfield atmosphere.
Anfield Road Stand
The other end behind the goal, expanded in 2024. Away fans are seated there, in the corner next to the Main Stand (blocks AL7 to AL9).
Main Stand
The largest stand, over three tiers, rebuilt in 2016. It houses the dugouts and many hospitality areas, with a great view of the whole pitch.
Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand
The side stand opposite the Main Stand, named after the club legend. A good balance between view and price, with much sought-after central seats.
Soccerbus from Sandhills station (Merseyrail, Northern line): direct shuttles to Anfield on match days, the easiest option.
Bus 17 or 26 from Liverpool city centre (Queen Square): about 20 minutes to the stadium.
On foot from Liverpool Lime Street station: about 45 minutes, or 30 minutes from Kirkdale station.
Liverpool's great historic rival is Manchester United: the North West Derby pits England's two most successful clubs against each other. The Merseyside derby against city neighbours Everton is the other unmissable fixture. Games against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal, direct title rivals, are also highly anticipated. These are the most sought-after and expensive tickets.
Every season Liverpool play the Premier League (38 matches, 19 at Anfield), the FA Cup and the League Cup (Carabao Cup). The club also plays in Europe, most often the Champions League, and European nights at Anfield are famous for their atmosphere. In total Liverpool usually play 25 to 30 home matches a season.
The club has many legends: managers Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley, Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, Kevin Keegan, John Barnes, Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and Mohamed Salah. Liverpool also has a French connection: Gérard Houllier won five trophies there in 2001, and players such as Djibril Cissé and Ibrahima Konaté left their mark.
Liverpool was founded in 1892 after Everton left Anfield following a dispute with the ground's owner, John Houlding, who then created a new club to play there. Liverpool won its first English title as early as 1901.
Bill Shankly's arrival in 1959 transformed the club, and Bob Paisley turned it into a winning machine: Liverpool dominated England and Europe in the late 1970s and early 1980s, with four European Cups between 1977 and 1984. The club won a fifth in 2005, in the famous Istanbul final, and a sixth in 2019.
Under Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool won the league again in 2020, the first title in 30 years. His successor Arne Slot won it again in 2025, the club's 20th. Liverpool is today one of the most successful and most followed clubs in the world.
Liverpool's next match at Anfield is Liverpool - Arsenal on Sunday, 1 November 2026 at 16:30. Tickets start from €211 on our comparison.

Prices depend on the opponent, the stand and the date. Games against Manchester United, Everton, Manchester City or Arsenal cost much more. Right now, tickets start from €118 on our site (per ticket, excluding fees). Upper-tier seats in the Anfield Road Stand are usually the cheapest; the centre of the Main Stand and hospitality the most expensive.
Liverpool sells almost all its tickets to season-ticket holders and members, often by ballot, and general sales are very rare. Without a membership you have two options: hospitality (VIP) packages or the resale sites we compare, which list tickets for most matches. This is the safest route: avoid tickets sold on social media or between individuals, where scams are common. Our partners are selected for their reliability and guarantee their tickets: if anything goes wrong, their customer service will offer a refund or a replacement solution.
Liverpool play at Anfield, in the north of the city. The ground holds over 61,000 fans since the Anfield Road Stand expansion in 2024. There is no underground: the easiest options are the Soccerbus from Sandhills station or buses from the city centre.
Yes. Anfield offers many hospitality options: The Carlsberg Dugout, the Premium Lounges and the Executive Lounge in the Main Stand, the Centenary Club and Premier Club in the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand, and Brodies and The Boot Room in the Anfield Road Stand. On each match map, our partners' VIP offers are listed alongside regular tickets.
Liverpool tickets are usually mobile tickets, shown on your phone at the turnstiles. They are typically sent a few days before the match, sometimes only 24-48 hours before. The exact delivery method is shown on each offer and on the reseller's site.
Generally no: stadium tours are not offered on match days. To see the dressing rooms, the tunnel and the "This Is Anfield" sign, book the tour on another day of your trip and check dates on the club's official site.
