See ticketsStamford Bridge has been Chelsea's home since the club was founded in 1905. First opened in 1877 as an athletics ground, it stands in Fulham, west London, a short walk from Fulham Broadway. With around 40,000 seats it is smaller than the Emirates or Old Trafford, but the stands are very close to the pitch.
The ground has four stands: the Matthew Harding Stand behind the north goal, the Shed End behind the south goal, the West Stand, the largest, over three tiers with the boxes and the Westview at the top, and the East Stand, whose lower tier hosts the Family Centre. The corners are enclosed, which keeps the noise inside the stadium.
Because the ground is small and the club is hugely popular, Stamford Bridge tickets are among the hardest to get in the Premier League. The club has been studying an expansion or a new stadium for several years.
Each stand offers a different experience. Here is what you need to know.
Matthew Harding Stand
Behind the north goal, the loudest stand in the ground and home to the most passionate fans. The best choice for atmosphere.
Shed End
Behind the south goal, the club's historic end. Away fans are seated in its south-east corner.
West Stand
The largest side stand, over three tiers. It houses the boxes and most hospitality areas, with the Westview at the top giving a full view of the game.
East Stand
The other side stand, very close to the pitch. Its lower tier includes the Family Centre, ideal with children.
Fulham Broadway Underground station (District line): the closest, about a 5-minute walk.
West Brompton (District line and Overground): about a 15-minute walk, often less crowded after the match.
Imperial Wharf (Overground): about a 15-minute walk, handy from south or west London.
Chelsea's biggest rivals are in London: Tottenham, with fierce derbies for decades, Arsenal, and Fulham, their closest neighbours. Games against Liverpool and Manchester United, born from big title and European battles, are also among the most anticipated. These are the most sought-after and expensive tickets.
Every season Chelsea play the Premier League (38 matches, 19 at Stamford Bridge), the FA Cup and the League Cup (Carabao Cup). The club also plays in Europe depending on its league position: Champions League, Europa League or Conference League. In total Chelsea usually play 25 to 30 home matches a season.
The club has many legends: Frank Lampard, the club's all-time top scorer, John Terry, Didier Drogba, Petr Čech, Gianfranco Zola and Eden Hazard. Chelsea also has a strong French connection: Marcel Desailly, Frank Leboeuf, Claude Makélélé, N'Golo Kanté and Olivier Giroud all won trophies there.
Chelsea was founded in 1905 by businessman Gus Mears, owner of Stamford Bridge, who was looking for a club to play at his ground. The club won its first English title in 1955, then the FA Cup in 1970 and the Cup Winners' Cup in 1971.
After difficult years, Chelsea returned to the top in the 1990s and changed dimension from 2003. Under José Mourinho the club won the league in 2005 and 2006, followed by several more titles. Chelsea won the Champions League in 2012 and 2021 and is one of the few clubs to have won every European trophy.
Since 2022 the club has been owned by an American consortium led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, which has bet on a very young squad. Chelsea remains one of the most followed clubs in the world, and Stamford Bridge one of the hardest grounds to get into in the Premier League.
Chelsea's next match at Stamford Bridge is Chelsea - Manchester United on Saturday, 31 October 2026 at 12:30. Tickets start from €275 on our comparison.

Prices depend on the opponent, the stand and the date. London derbies and games against Liverpool or Manchester United cost much more. Right now, tickets start from €80 on our site (per ticket, excluding fees). Upper-tier seats behind the goals are usually the cheapest; the West Stand and hospitality the most expensive.
Chelsea sells almost all its tickets to season-ticket holders and paying members, and general sales are very rare. Without a membership you have two options: hospitality (VIP) packages or the resale sites we compare, which list tickets for most matches. This is the safest route: avoid tickets sold on social media or between individuals, where scams are common. Our partners are selected for their reliability and guarantee their tickets: if anything goes wrong, their customer service will offer a refund or a replacement solution.
Chelsea play at Stamford Bridge in Fulham, west London. The ground holds around 40,000 fans and has been the club's home since 1905. The nearest Tube station is Fulham Broadway on the District line.
Yes. Stamford Bridge offers many hospitality options, mainly in the West Stand (Millennium Suites, lounges named after club legends, boxes) and in the East Stand. On each match map, our partners' VIP and hospitality offers are listed alongside regular tickets.
Chelsea tickets are usually mobile tickets, shown on your phone at the turnstiles. They are typically sent a few days before the match, sometimes only 24-48 hours before. The exact delivery method is shown on each offer and on the reseller's site.
Generally no: stadium tours are not offered on match days. To see the dressing rooms and pitchside, book the tour on another day of your trip and check dates on the club's official site.
