See ticketsA stone's throw from the Atlantic and Castrelos park, Abanca-Balaídos has been Celta Vigo's home since 1928. The old Galician ground has been fully modernised stand by stand and now holds nearly 25,000 fans, right next to the pitch.
There are no numbered blocks here: you pick your stand. The Tribuna, on the dugout side, and the Río, opposite, each have two levels (Baixa at the bottom, Alta at the top). Behind the goals are the Marcador and the Fondo at one end and the Gol at the other; away fans sit in the corner of the Río.
On Galician derby nights against Deportivo La Coruña, Balaídos sells out: it is the game not to miss, along with those against Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.
Each stand offers a different experience. Here is what you need to know.
Tribuna
The main stand, on the dugout side. The lower Tribuna Baixa (Category 1 Premium) hugs the pitch; the upper Tribuna Alta (Category 1) gives a full view of the game.
Río
The opposite side stand, named after the nearby Lagares river. Same layout as the Tribuna: Río Baixo below, Río Alto above. Away fans sit in its corner.
Marcador et Fondo
Behind the goal on the city side, the Marcador (upper) and the Fondo (lower) gather Celta's loudest fans. Category 2 seats, among the cheapest.
Gol
The stand behind the other goal, fully rebuilt. Category 2 seats, ideal for a first match at Balaídos on a budget.
Vitrasa city buses from the city centre to the stops around Balaídos and Castrelos park.
On foot: 35 to 40 minutes from the old town, or a pleasant walk through Castrelos park.
The stadium fills up late but fast: arrive 45 minutes before kick-off and check the gate shown on your ticket.
Celta and Deportivo La Coruña have fought over Galicia for a century. Depor's return to LaLiga has revived the rivalry: the derby is the most sought-after ticket of the season at Balaídos, ahead of visits from Real Madrid and Barça.
Three Copa del Rey finals (1948, 1994, 2001), the 2000 Intertoto Cup, the European nights of the "Celta de los milagros" in the early 2000s and a Europa League semi-final in 2017: Celta lives on great nights more than trophies.
Iago Aspas, born in nearby Moaña and the club's all-time top scorer, is its symbol. Before him, Alexander Mostovoi and Valery Karpin thrilled Balaídos. On the French side, Claude Makélélé made his name here before Real Madrid, and Jonathan Bamba wore the sky-blue shirt.
Real Club Celta de Vigo was born in 1923 from the merger of the city's two clubs, Real Vigo Sporting and Real Club Fortuna. Its name honours Galicia's Celtic roots, and its sky-blue shirt has become the emblem of Vigo, Europe's leading fishing port.
The club moved to Balaídos in 1928 and spent decades between the first and second divisions. The late 1990s changed everything: with Mostovoi, Karpin and Makélélé, Celta shone in the UEFA Cup and even played in the Champions League in 2003-04.
Today, Celta relies on its A Madroa academy and local heroes like Iago Aspas, while continuing to renovate Balaídos.
Next up at Balaídos: Celta Vigo - Levante on Sunday, 8 November 2026 at 18:30. Seats from €35 on our comparison.
See tickets →To watch from the side, choose the Tribuna or the Río: the Baixa section (Category 1 Premium) is closest to the pitch, the Alta section (Category 1) gives an overall view. For atmosphere and lower prices, go for the stands behind the goals (Category 2).
It depends on the opponent: the derby against Deportivo and visits from Real Madrid or Barça push prices up. Right now, tickets start from €35 on our site. Compare resellers stand by stand on the map.
The stadium is in south-west Vigo, near Castrelos park and about ten minutes from Samil beach. Vitrasa city buses serve it from the centre; on foot, allow 35 to 40 minutes from the old town.
Try the oysters on A Pedra street in the old town, climb Monte O Castro for the view over the estuary, then walk to Balaídos through Castrelos park. At weekends, the Cíes Islands are a short boat ride away.
Celta tickets are usually electronic or mobile and sent a few days before the match. The exact delivery method is shown on each offer.
