See ticketsBayer Leverkusen play at the BayArena, opened in 1958 as the Ulrich-Haberland-Stadion and renamed in 1998. Fully modernised between 2007 and 2009, it holds around 30,000: a compact, covered stadium where you are very close to the pitch.
The stadium has four stands: the Westtribüne and Osttribüne along the pitch, with the VIP areas in the centre, and the Nordtribüne and Südtribüne behind the goals. The corners link the stands without a break.
Since the unbeaten title of 2024, tickets are in much higher demand. The Rhine derby against 1. FC Köln and the games against Bayern and Dortmund are the most sought-after.
Each stand offers a different experience. Here is what you need to know.
Westtribüne
The main stand, with the dugouts and the VIP areas. The central blocks F1 to F4 (Category 1 Platinum) offer the best view in the stadium.
Osttribüne
The opposite side stand. Lower blocks B1 to B4 (Category 1 Platinum) are closest to the pitch, upper blocks B5 to B9 (Category 1 Silver) a little cheaper.
Nordtribüne
Behind one goal, with the SD and D blocks in Category 2. A lively stand with gentler prices.
Südtribüne
Behind the other goal, with blocks H1 to H4 in Category 2. The neighbouring corners are often the cheapest seats in the stadium.
S6, RE1 or RE5 train to Leverkusen Mitte station, then about 20 minutes on foot to the stadium.
From Cologne: around 20 minutes by train to Leverkusen Mitte.
On match days, the ticket often includes regional public transport: check the wording on your ticket.
The Rhine derby against neighbours 1. FC Köln is the hottest game of the season. The fixtures against Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, rivals for the title, are the other big dates. These are the most expensive tickets.
Leverkusen won the 1988 UEFA Cup, the German Cup in 1993 and 2024, and their first German league title in 2024, without a single defeat: a first in Bundesliga history. The club plays the Bundesliga every season (17 home games), the German Cup and often a European competition.
The club's record scorer Ulf Kirsten, Rudi Völler, Michael Ballack, Bernd Schneider and Stefan Kießling left their mark on the club, as did Florian Wirtz and coach Xabi Alonso, the architects of the 2024 title.
Bayer Leverkusen was founded in 1904 by employees of the Bayer chemical company, hence its nickname "Werkself" (the factory team). Long an amateur club, it reached the Bundesliga in 1979 and has never been relegated since.
In 1988, Leverkusen won the UEFA Cup on penalties against Espanyol, then the German Cup in 1993. In 2002, the club narrowly missed out on three trophies, including the Champions League final lost to Real Madrid, earning the mocking nickname "Neverkusen".
Revenge came in 2024 under Xabi Alonso: Leverkusen became German champions without losing a single game, won the German Cup and reached the Europa League final. A historic season that made the BayArena one of Germany's most in-demand stadiums.
Leverkusen's next match at the BayArena is Bayer Leverkusen - VfB Stuttgart on Saturday, 31 October 2026 at 15:30. Tickets start from €49 on our comparison.

The games against Bayern, Dortmund and Köln are by far the most expensive. Right now, tickets start from €39 on our site. The stands behind the goals and the corners are the cheapest, the centre of the Westtribüne and Osttribüne the most expensive.
The central blocks of the Westtribüne and Osttribüne (Category 1 Platinum) offer the best view. As the stadium is compact, even the seats behind the goals stay close to the pitch.
Take the train (S6, RE1 or RE5) to Leverkusen Mitte station, then allow about 20 minutes' walk to the stadium. From Cologne, the train journey takes around 20 minutes.
Leverkusen tickets are usually electronic or mobile and sent a few days before the match. The exact delivery method is shown on each offer.
