See ticketsFiorentina play at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, built in 1931 by architect Pier Luigi Nervi in the Campo di Marte district. With its Maratona tower, spiral staircase and concrete covered stand, it is a listed historic monument and considered a masterpiece of modern architecture.
The stadium holds around 43,000 seats, but it is undergoing renovation: the work is done in stages, so part of the stands may be closed depending on the season. The Tribuna Coperta, on the main side, holds the central seats and VIP areas. Opposite, the Tribuna di Maratona offers a side view. The Viola ultras fill the Curva Fiesole, facing the Curva Ferrovia.
On nights of the Derby dell'Appennino against Bologna or games against arch-rivals Juventus, the Franchi becomes a purple tide. Florence and its monuments are only around 20 minutes' walk away.
Each stand offers a different experience. Here is what you need to know.
Tribuna Coperta
The main covered stand, with Platinum and Gold pitch-side seats and VIP areas. The most sought-after view.
Tribuna di Maratona
The opposite stand, overlooked by the Maratona tower. Its central blocks (Silver) offer a fine overall view.
Curva Fiesole
The Fiorentina ultras' end, facing the hills of Fiesole. Songs and purple tifos throughout the match.
Curva Ferrovia
The end on the railway side, which also hosts the away section. Among the cheapest seats.
Train to Firenze Campo di Marte, a 5-minute walk from the stadium, with frequent links from Santa Maria Novella.
ATAF buses 11 and 17 from the historic centre to the Campo di Marte area.
On foot: about 20 to 25 minutes from the Duomo.
Juventus are the Florentines' sworn enemy, a rivalry fuelled by Roberto Baggio's transfer to Turin in 1990. The Derby dell'Appennino against Bologna and games against Roma, Inter and Milan are also eagerly awaited.
Fiorentina have won two Italian titles (1956 and 1969), six Coppa Italia trophies and the 1961 Cup Winners' Cup, the first European trophy won by an Italian club. They reached back-to-back Europa Conference League finals in 2023 and 2024. They play Serie A (19 home games), the Coppa Italia and often European competition.
Kurt Hamrin, Giancarlo Antognoni, captain and symbol of the 1970s and 80s, Roberto Baggio and Gabriel Batistuta, "Batigol", thrilled Florence. Rui Costa, Francesco Toldo, Luca Toni, Federico Chiesa and Dušan Vlahović also wore the purple shirt.
Associazione Calcio Fiorentina was founded in 1926 by Marquis Luigi Ridolfi, through the merger of two Florence clubs. The shirt turned purple in 1929, a colour unique in Italy, and the city's red lily adorns the crest. Hence its nicknames, La Viola and the Gigliati.
The first Scudetto came in 1956, with Julinho and Montuori, followed by the 1961 Cup Winners' Cup. The second title, in 1969, belonged to "the yé-yé Fiorentina", a very young team. In the 1990s, Batistuta and Rui Costa made La Viola one of Italy's most exciting teams.
In 2002, the club went bankrupt and restarted in the fourth tier as Florentia Viola, before returning to Serie A by 2004. Since 2019, it has been owned by Italian-American Rocco Commisso, who launched a large training centre and the renovation of the Franchi.
La Viola's next home game: Fiorentina - Juventus on Sunday, 8 November 2026 at 20:45. Tickets from €152 on our comparison.
