See ticketsSt James' Park has been Newcastle United's home since the club was formed in 1892, and football was already played there from 1880. Set on a hill in the heart of the city, a short walk from the station and the shopping streets, it towers over Newcastle and can be seen from almost anywhere in town.
The stadium is built around four stands: the Gallowgate End behind the goal, where the most passionate fans sing, the Milburn Stand, the main stand with the VIP areas, the Leazes Stand, a huge stand behind the other goal with away fans at the very top, and the lower East Stand opposite the Milburn. With over 52,000 seats, it is one of the biggest grounds in the Premier League.
St James' Park's lopsided shape comes from its history: for years the club could not expand on the east side. The result is two giant stands and two smaller ones, and a unique atmosphere. Since the Magpies returned among England's best clubs, tickets sell out for almost every match.
Each stand offers a different experience. Here is what you need to know.
Behind the south goal, the historic home of Newcastle's loudest fans. Ideal to feel the Magpies' atmosphere from the inside.
The main stand, named after club legend Jackie Milburn. It houses the dugouts and most hospitality areas, with excellent views of the pitch.
Behind the north goal, the stadium's tallest stand. Away fans sit right at the top, on level 7, with a steep but distant view.
Single-tier side stand opposite the Milburn Stand. Lower than the others, it offers a close view of the pitch and often gentler prices.
Hover over the plan to find each area. Prices by stand are shown on each match page.
