See ticketsOpened in 1910, Old Trafford is the largest club stadium in the UK, with over 74,000 seats. Sir Bobby Charlton nicknamed it the "Theatre of Dreams", a name that stuck. It stands in Trafford, west of Manchester city centre, at the end of Sir Matt Busby Way, lined with shops and stalls on match days.
The stadium has four stands linked by enclosed corners: the huge four-tier Sir Alex Ferguson Stand, the Stretford End where the most loyal fans sing, the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand with the dugouts, and the East Stand, which hosts away fans in one corner.
Old Trafford was bombed during the Second World War, rebuilt and expanded several times since. The club has announced plans for a much larger new stadium next to the current one: until then, every game here is a big occasion, and the biggest fixtures sell out well in advance.
Each stand offers a different experience. Here is what you need to know.
United fans' legendary stand, behind the west goal. This is where the atmosphere is loudest, especially in the lower rows.
The stadium's largest stand, over four tiers, named after the club's most successful manager. Tiers 3 and 4 give a panoramic view, and it houses the Manchester and Salford suites.
Side stand facing the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand, with the dugouts, the directors' box and several suites. Seats here are very close to the pitch.
Behind the east goal, also known as the Scoreboard End. Away fans sit in its corner next to the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand (E132, E230 to E232).
Hover over the plan to find each area. Prices by stand are shown on each match page.
