See ticketsIn the heart of the working-class district of Vallecas, the Estadio de Vallecas is one of the most unusual grounds in Spain: just three stands, and behind one goal, a plain wall facing the street and apartment blocks. Opened in 1976, it holds around 14,700 fans, all very close to the pitch.
The two side stands are split into several levels: Lateral Baja and Lateral Cubierta on one side, Grada Preferencia and Tribuna Central on the other, in Category 1 Premium, plus the two upper stands (Tribuna Alta) in Category 1. The Fondo, behind the goal, is home to the Bukaneros, Rayo's fiercest fans.
On Madrid derby nights against Real Madrid or Atlético, and when Barça come to town, Vallecas's few seats are snapped up.
Each stand offers a different experience. Here is what you need to know.
On the Calle Arroyo del Olivar side: the Grada Preferencia and Tribuna Central (Category 1 Premium) run along the pitch, while the Tribuna Alta Preferencia (Category 1) looks down on it all.
On the Avenida de la Albufera side: the Lateral Baja and Lateral Cubierta (Category 1 Premium) below, the Tribuna Alta Lateral (Category 1) at the top.
The only stand behind a goal, home of the Bukaneros. Category 2 seats, the cheapest in the stadium, to experience Vallecas right among the chants.
Hover over the plan to find each area. Prices by stand are shown on each match page.
Metro line 1, Portazgo station, right outside the stadium (around 20 minutes from Puerta del Sol).
Several EMT bus lines serve Avenida de la Albufera, which runs alongside the stadium.
With fewer than 15,000 seats, getting in is quick, but the local bars fill up early: arrive ahead of time for the atmosphere.
